Globe Telecom I Lost a Job Contract Because of You

This post was originally posted as a Facebook status last March 4, 2014. I lost a job contract in the middle of the night last Monday.

Click the image for full view.

Just so you know Globe Telecom, for that job contract I was using a time tracker which I was paid by hour. The time tracker is dependent with the internet connection. I always got booted out while using the time tracker. Your internet connection last week made me inefficient to the eyes of the client. He decided to give the task to another worker he just hired because he was chasing the deadline.

Several opportunities were lost. I lost my valuable client who pays well. He should be giving me more work to do this week until completed. There is a loss of income.

I've lost my confidence of applying several jobs since December 2013 because I have no internet connection and dial tone for two months until February 2014.

What is so frustrating that my supposed earning for that job, I still need to pay you Globe Telecom for our PhP1299 monthly subscription. I even feared about the idea of losing a wonderful client if your service continues like this but fortunately, my nightmare came true.

You cannot bring back the time and the job opportunity that were lost because of your lousy service. It is heartbreaking for me that I've lost that 20 hours per week with great compensation. So Globe Telecom, are you even willing to compensate what I've lost?

One of your disappointed internet users,

Roxanne M. Tamayo

P.S.
The landline bundled with internet connection subscription is under the name of my mother but I am paying for the internet usage.

On Valentine's Day 2014

I've been a busy bee the reason I haven't blogged starting the year of 2014. Several things happened but several things I haven't shared here.

To start things off for February, here's my Valentine's moment.

On February 13, 2014, I had a date with my friend to look for a dress on the Valentine's Party we need to attend on the 15th.

On February 14th, I was busy preparing for the Valentine's Party so I was offline for the whole day. On the next day here are my dates with friends.

No Internet and Dial Tone with Globe

Today is January 12, 2014 and it's been one month and two days since I have no internet and dial tone at home with Globe. I lost my internet connection last December 10, 2013. So I missed blogging a lot and I just posted once last December 2013. I haven't updated my other blogs too.

It's sad to say that I cannot work comfortably because my internet connection sucks although I already had the appetite to work last December. I have lots of things to update. Anyway, I'll just end this post here.

I'm not at home and I haven't sleep so better for me to pack up my things and get a sleep at home. :D

End of November

Oh, this blog sucks for the month of November. I haven't blog for a while after the Halloween and during my birthday. I don't even have informative post to blog. Because of the typhoon Yolanda, I lost my interest to blog. There was no electricity last November 8, 2013 then there were rotational brownouts in Cebu.
On November 10, 2013 my birthday celebration was simple. We just went to Sto. NiƱo Church and SM City Cebu with mom and sis. We enjoyed the Max Rider with a birthday discount. Because of the brownouts and what happened to Eastern Visayas and Bohol, it was unnecessary for a big celebration. As a birthday gift to myself, I bought a tripod for my dslr camera.
Then few days ago, I got addicted to Pinterest again because of make-up then bought some make-up brushes. I got back crocheting again that I created crochet stars for Christmas decoration.

My mind was pretty occupied with something creative and I can't stop it! Char! Here's my illustration by the way through Adobe Photoshop!

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - My First Ever International Trip

After my four days trip in Siquijor-Dumaguete-Manila last June 2013, my friends and I were foolishly thinking about an international trip discussed on Facebook. We were so noisy as if we had the money already. I have my own passport but I had no intention of going out of the country too soon.

at the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery
We were talking about Malaysia - Truly Asia as if we were so sure about it. But it was just an idea until Tata told me about a certain deal on Metrodeal which I found very affordable. I went to Cebu Pacific site and they had a 99 or 199 base fare promo and calculated the possible fee for the trip.

7.2 Magnitude Earthquake in the Visayas

The earthquake happened on a Tuesday morning at 8. I was asleep when my father shouted to get out of the house then things went on shaking. The feeling was unbelievable like you were in a movie. The shaking lasted for less than a minute but it was the longest I felt. I was with my mom and dad in between of the two houses. Last year we had two earthquakes on February and August. You can see the blog post here.

I went outside of the gate when the shaking stopped.

I immediately grabbed my bags and gadgets in case we need to evacuate. I hurriedly charged my gadgets especially my cellphones.

We felt several aftershocks until now. It was an uncomfortable sleep on the first night the earthquake happened but I made sure to eat on time. Several churches in Cebu and Bohol were destructed including Basilica del Sto. Nino de Cebu and Baclayon Church in Bohol.

Yesterday, mom went to Basilica del Sto. Nino with my brother so I was left at home alone. I decided to play Xbox Kinect in order not to be bothered with the aftershock.

Here's the video which you can view it without a Facebook account. ---> click here.

The image above was a photo of me while playing the xbox. Indeed, it was effective because I was moving and I worried less. I have read friends' FB status about the aftershock while I was playing. If I wasn't playing, then I would be crazy alone at home.

The aftershock will last in a week.

My First Flight with AirAsia Zest

Just a perfect timing to blog after my trip in Manila just few days ago, I'll be happy to blog my first flight experience with AirAsia Zest.

Last August 28, 2013, I booked a flight with Zest Air with a round trip ticket Cebu-Manila-Cebu with my friends. I was able to book a flight for a very affordable price. On September 20, 2013, it was announced that Zest Air is now flying with AirAsia with their new brand name AirAsia Zest.

It was a recent trip from October 4 to 8, 2013. The estimated time departure from Cebu was at 6:00 AM and estimated time arrival to AirAsia Zest, NAIA Terminal 4 was at 7:20 AM. Fortunately, we arrived earlier and safe. So we had a lot of time roaming around Intramuros and Star City on our first day.

Every Filipino is now given the “Right Way to Fly” as these two will now travel together as AirAsia Zest!

What's your destination wish list?

Enough with my Manila trip, it's time to discuss my destination wish list. AirAsia Zest may now take you to your destination at affordable prices (AirAsia Zest dares you to compare prices!). Now that AirAsia Zest flies from Manila, here are my top 5 AirAsia Zest destinations.

My Top 5 AirAsia Zest destinations

1. Kalibo (Boracay)

I've never been to Boracay and I always have a hard time booking a flight going there because it is the destination always filled by most travelers all the year-round. I am a beach bum and I really don't worry a lot if I have a super tanned-skin. It is my wish to explore Boracay.

2. Puerto Princesa

I am very fond of exploring beaches, caves, rivers or any nice place I can take a good swim so I am really interested to visit one of the Seven Wonders of Nature just in the Philippines, the Puerto Princesa Underground River. I am really excited to travel in the Philippines, the reason I created a travel blog.

3. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This is my first ever out-of-the-country trip that happened last September 21 to 25, 2013. Yes, I fell in love with Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and I told myself to come back to this country in the near future. While I was at the Petronas Towers, it was like I was in a fairy tale. That feeling when you're in love even though you're not in a relationship.

4. Incheon, South Korea

As one of the people who watch Korean series dubbed in Filipino, I'm getting fascinated of going to Incheon. If ever I'll get the chance to travel to Incheon for free, I would really love to go. Who wouldn't love to see the cherry blossoms? Although I don't understand their language, I love listening to K-Pop songs. I find the people cute and colorful because of their taste with fashion.

5. Shanghai, China

No doubt that the Chinese culture had influenced our country especially with the food we eat here in the Philippines. I have visited China Town in Kuala Lumpur and Taoist Temple in Cebu. It makes me think to visit real places in China. Shanghai is also known for its world-class shopping with inexpensive products so this is a good place to shop until I drop for pasalubong.

AirAsia Zest, The Right Way to Fly - here it is revealing the new logo:

The moment I got my passport earlier this year, my target is to travel in Asia with AirAsia, of course. I am amazed that AirAsia Zest can take me to my destination at a very affordable price. Indeed, I was able to compare the prices from other airline companies.

My first flight with AirAsia Zest was pretty cool because of the very smooth landing. The red uniforms for the female flight attendants look great on them, they look so sophisticated. I have no regrets of flying with AirAsia Zest.

Mom's Birthday Last Friday

Two days after I arrived in Cebu from Malaysia, my mom celebrated her birthday last Friday. So the girls accompanied mom going to Basilica Minore del Santo NiƱo and of course, prayed and thanked God for the blessings and good health.

After that, we went to SM City Cebu just roamed around the department store and bought something. Then I treat my mom and sis for a 4D Maxrider. It was my mom's first time to experience the ride. She told us that whenever we're stressed, then we should take a ride and shout out at the top of your lungs. Since it was her birthday, she got a discount for the ride. That's really cool!

We bought a cute cake at Cakes R' Us just inside the mall and we got this! It was a chocolate cup cake and it tastes like Fudgee bar, if you're familiar with Fudgee bar. Hehe!

Then we ended up having dinner at Lamesa Grill, a treat from me. The boys in the family were having their own appointment so we just bought a take-out meal. Happy Birthday again ma!

Blogging in KLIA, Malaysia

Refer to the image above:
Currently I'm in Kuala Lumpur International Airport waiting for our connecting flight going to Manila at 1:20AM then to Cebu in the morning. I'm with a blogger friend Ernhez. We are happily connecting a Wi-Fi here at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

I've been active to Instagram since day 1 we arrived here in Kuala Lumpur. The hotel that we stayed has also free Wi-Fi. We had a half-day tour at the Petronas Towers, the King's Palace, the National Monument, Beryl's Chocolate Kingdom, and the Independence Square on the second day.

In the afternoon until night, we went to Petronas Towers to see the real thing to capture the night shots.

Petronas Towers in the afternoon

Petronas Towers at night

On the third day, we went to Batu Caves ourselves with the help of the trains. In the afternoon until night, we also went to China Town and from China Town we walked going to Bukit Bintang to reach the Berjaya Times Square Mall. Indeed it was a long walk.

Train going to Batu Caves

I don't have pictures in China Town using the iPad mini since it was crowded. I have several pictures on my DSLR camera though. iPad mini is for selfie and Instagram purposes. Hehe!

Fortunately, our hotel was just a walking distance to Titiwangsa Train Station to reach the destinations in our additional itinerary.

The full details of this travel will be posted in I Travel Rox including the budget and our itinerary. To view the sneak pics, just click here for my Instagram posts.

Night of Fun at Lakwatsa Resto Lounge

Yesterday was the start of the day being jobless despite of my 4th year anniversary in blogging and working online. It was sort of mixed emotions because I don't know if I should be happy or sad. Well, I am not totally sad because of the thought that I'll be traveling in and out of the country without a job to mind. It will be almost a month of not having a full-time job but I still have part time or on-call basis job. Anyway, I really need a breath of fresh air and it's my way of celebrating the anniversary, the gift of traveling.

To start off the day, I went to Lakwatsa Resto Lounge last night with fellow bloggers and press people to have fun of Ng Khai's Media Celebration for Press Freedom Week and 20th Anniversary Celebration.

Sumptuous Dinner
For the dinner, they prepared Chinese, Korean and Japanese dishes but I only ate the familiar Chinese foods. Kimchis and sushis are not my type. :P

10G troupers
10G troupers performed last night wearing costumes from different ethnic groups in the Philippines. The resto lounge was called Lakwatsa it is because these performers are showcasing different cultures and like they bring you to different places in one setting, thus Lakwatsa is to travel.

You've Been Facebooked casts
You've Been Facebooked casts showed us the preview of the musical. We had a hearty laugh it's because it was something most of us Facebook users can relate.

Time to play Bingo
We played Bingo but I never had the chance to win even once. The prizes were really cool like 22 inches LCD TV, an HP printer, Microsoft mouse, and a speaker.

Hopia hopia hopia! mani popcorn...
Last night was also the Full Moon Festival so mooncakes or hopia were served for everyone. To know more about the Mid-Autumn Festival, just click the link.

Selfie with the Geek Gone Girly
Since Jacqui and I didn't receive any major prizes, at least a t-shirt would do. It was a disappointment that we never had the chance to sing on stage for the sake of t-shirts. We even had our lyrics ready. Hahahaha!

Simple Yet Rock's 4th Year Blog Anniversary

Today is a simple day for me. There is nothing too fancy to celebrate but I always have a gift for myself in my years of blogging and at the same time, with the years of working online. I re-created this blog as a portfolio and the same day, I registered myself on oDesk.

Last year, I gave myself a toy like I was a teenager. Hehe! This year I'll be celebrating out of the country this weekend. I always pray that the weather will be fine. Oh, please typhoon go, go away so that I and my friend will be having a save flight getting in and out of the country. :D

Anyway...

Mingming with Her Newborn Five Kittens

Do you find the picture above cute? Surprisingly, Mingming gave birth to five kittens yesterday in the morning. She had her first two kittens also from this year, they are now big but not yet adults.

I got the video on the 5th kitten so here it is:

There was a moment that we scolded Mingming and ignored her for a very long time because when she got pregnant a long time ago, it was a failed and mishandled pregnancy so the kittens were dead and she ate it herself. She didn't had that mother instinct back then. I think she did understand us by the time we ignored her.

Although Mingming was a stray cat, I mean she came from our neighbor's house and decided to stay with us because of the food. We are feeding her together with the two kittens and with the new five kittens. Oh, so many rascals in our house.

Oh, well. I'll just end this blog post. I am sorry if I'm talking about cats today if you don't find this blog informative. Well, whatever, I'm just happy! :)
So how's your pet? :D

September Updates

I missed blogging on the first week of September because again I am busy. If you remember my blog post August Not Good, I had an issue with my health. Before August ended, I felt pains in my body so mom and I went to a spa for a Swedish massage. I never thought that my back on my left was really in pain.

After few days on September 4, 2013, my period showed up. I think I missed my period for July and August the reason I had my cramps on my chest part. In some way, the massage was a great help.

A lot of things happened the past few days but I wasn't able to update it here.

September 6, 2013 - I was able to book an international flight with college friends for next year.

September 8, 2013 - I attended a wedding together with my relatives. I was able to get some wedding shots using a 50 mm F1.8 G lens. I learned to appreciate more of the 50 mm prime lens and I was glad I was able to experience some wedding shots.

September 10, 2013 - Puppies for adoption - I posted this picture to all Facebook groups that I am involved. I was happy that some FB users responded with the post. The puppies are now in good hands to different concerned citizens.

My Fiverr gig is somewhat challenging right now because most of the customers want their pictures for a major restoration. Editing an old photo is a very tough job.

Of course, I can't wait for my trip next Saturday because it will be a first time. Yes, I am really excited.

Homemade Hawaiian Pizza

Just this afternoon, I decided to do something in the kitchen. Just so you know that I am not a good cook. I mean, the kitchen is not my area of expertise. Although I know how to fry some fish and fried rice, still I don't always see myself hanging out in the kitchen.

I went to Metro Market here in Naga to buy the ingredients that I need. I saw the recipe and the procedure at Del Monte Kitchenomics website. Just click the link because I don't want to be redundant.

We don't have an oven so I used the frying pan with a cover instead. I just cooked it for 3-5 minutes or until the cheese will melt.

Mom and I were just at home so we enjoyed eating the homemade pizza that I prepared.

Selfie with my homemade Hawaiian pizza
This is just so easy and I prepared this for 15 minutes only.

August Not Good

It's been one month and five days I missed blogging because I was busy after my last post. I got a full time job and was happy about it because it was all about search engine optimization (SEO). I could really say that my employer was really great. I am just lucky and thankful that I had meet great online employers/clients. They were always good to me.

My training with the employer went great although there were moments I was so slow. I was able to catch up though so no worries. Until last week of July, something happened in our family (my uncle died because of an illness). On the next few days, I wasn't able to train and missed some time not to complete 40 hours a week.

Those days were not normal. My health was affected and I had some personal issues. I really don't want to talk about it here as confidential. I had no choice but to quit my full time job but delegate my other jobs to some friends.

I had my several trips to the doctor and she advised me to quit my job to regain my health. I was really pale and of course, I took several medications. Again, I really don't want to spill the beans here. Good thing I am now okay but still I have to monitor my health.

I feel so bored and the days are so slow now that I am not working. I am just looking forward for my trip next month.

Anyway, enough with the not so good news. There were also great things happened but I haven't blogged about it here. I should create separate post(s).

Please don't forget to visit my other blogs, with updates. :)

July Randomness

I've been so busy this month of July, as always, and I realized that I missed some blog post for a week. As usual, I'm busy with my online jobs with different clients. Then my Fiverr account has been active lately so I've been juggling several tasks to the other. I was also looking for assistants because of the trip I've been planning this September.

The Best Roulette Strategy

Many people are now into online games just for killing the time or out of boredom. But some people are playing online games to earn money. Yeah right, there is a game which is not about candies or farming. I am talking about the number games, the roulette.

A lot of people are trying to beat the roulette but only few people succeeded to win the game on a long term. It says that the success depends on the roulette system they are using because most of the system generate the winnings only on short term and cannot deliver for the long term.

Well, there is a possibility that you can win the roulette for the long term by using the best roulette strategy. You just have to use the Roulette Number software even though you are just a complete novice, an automated program that will place bets for you. Well, on a roulette wheel you already know that there are 37 numbers. You don’t have to worry because the software will do everything for you.
