How to Get to Caubian Island?

This blog post is a guide on how to get to Caubian Island.  I hope this could help for the people who plan to travel there.

1.  If you're in Cebu City, just take a ride 01K bound for Parkmall/Cebu Doctor's University.  Just drop by at Cebu Doctor's University then there are several PUJ's or multicabs that are bound for Hi-Way Mandaue.

2.  At Hi-Way Mandaue, look for a PUJ that goes to Punta EngaƱo.  Make sure to tell the driver that your destination is at Hilton Dock or hotel.  Actually, the hotel is now called Moevenpick.

Moevenpick Hotel
3. At Hilton Dock, there are people who will shout for Caubian Island.  You need to pay the terminal fee and Banca or Pump Boat fee will cost you P70-P100.  Since the day we went there was a peak season because of the fiesta, we paid P100.

Bonus tips:
a.  Make sure you're phones are fully charged or bring extra batteries because the island does not have their own electricity although they use generator.

b. Bring drinking water for it is scarce there.  In taking a bath, you can't enjoy the water like what we do in the mainland.

Caubian Island Trip with Friends

Happy Summer to All!

Last Friday night of February 24, 2012, Tata sent a private message about the Caubian Island trip for a reminder.  I thought that it would be cancelled because she never gave us the reminder ahead of time although we already talked about this with Jan on early February.  Jan almost forgot about it because she was really busy with her online job.

Tata invited us because she has relatives there and perfect timing that it was a fiesta.  She went ahead of us on the 25th so Jan and I decided that we should go on the next day in order for us to finish our tasks online.  I just asked Tata for the instructions on how to get to Caubian Island.

Here are some of the pictures we have:

I'm Back

Whew! I missed blogging already for several days and I've been away last February 26, 2012.  I was on a trip together with friends in an island.  There are things I haven't blog before the trip because I've been busy with my online job and unexpected things I needed to do.

It was just yesterday I arrived home.  It was a vacation away from the computer and internet.  Actually, last week was a full blast with food.  I've been eating here and there and I find it amazing.

May be I am just going to post first my Caubian Island trip experience and I just make a backward blog post before the trip happened.

As of the moment, I am just thinking about fun, food and travel.  Whew!

Update: Busy Rox Again

It has been a week I haven't blog again.  Anyway, since the earthquake I didn't like the weather and the plan on going to Maribago has been changed.  So it was canceled.  Yesterday was a very good day because the sky is so blue.  Summer is coming. :D

I have lots of story to tell but I can't find the time to blog as of now.  I have lots of pictures to post, too.  As of now, I am busy with my online job again.

Well, my brain is empty right now.  Got to start working. :D

So Busy with my Graphic Pen and Tablet

I purchased my Easy Pen i405 graphic tablet last August 2011 and I've been using this every time I go to Adobe Photoshop for editing pictures and some drawings.  Being a self-proclaimed artist (ha ha ha), I only have few drawings using the tablet.  LOL so sorry for being a noob.

I will let you take a peek of my line arts and with some colors of it from the latest to the first attempt.

Earthquake Here in Cebu

So today, I am really busy doing stuffs online.  I am having a headache right now because I am used to wake up at 11 o'clock in the morning but there were customers waiting for me for their resume as early as nine.  I am working home-based for Fotografi Rox.

Still I am in front of my computer.  At almost 12 noon, my sister was watching Showtime.  While working for my online job, my computer was shaking.  My sister and I both shouted, "Nag linog! (It's shaking!)" I was going to post a status on Facebook but it went black out.  While it was shaking for few minutes, I didn't manage to get out because I was protecting the computer not to fell down.

I also grabbed my cellphone and called my boyfriend because he wasn't at home.  His phone could not be reached.  I had the time talking to him in the afternoon.  He even told me that he was biking from Bulacao to Lapu-Lapu (going to work) but he didn't feel anything. I called him again and he already felt the aftershocks.  I am just really worried.

After few minutes, electricity went back.  Facebook News Feeds were all about the earthquake.  Of course, we also turned on the TV or radio for the news.

The aftershock happened on these (estimated/accurate) time:

  • 2nd: Before 2:00 PM
  • 3rd: 6:10 PM
  • 4th-6th: aftershocks between 7:34 PM to 8:00 PM, small gaps each.
I didn't feel the 6th time because I was standing. I didn't panic but I am scared.  Scared because I still have plans to get married and have children in the future. I was like, "Is this really the end of the world? Please don't let it happen Lord!"

Right now, my head is still aching.  I wonder if I have to continue my online job right now.  I want to sleep but I have to be awake.  I already told some of my clients about the earthquake happening here in Cebu.

Treat Myself for Krispy Kreme at Ayala Center Cebu

Last Wednesday, I had the chance to claim my prize for the VBS 2011 Blog Post.  After I got the prize, I went to Krispy Kreme to treat myself.  At last, no more long lines.  I was really hungry then.  I just ordered a cappucino and two doughnuts (original glazed and chocolate).

Indeed very sweet

Hungry Juan at Mango Avenue

Waaah this is a very late blog post. Adam and I went to uptown area to send my printer to a shop for repair during the first week of December.   Since we could not get the printer on the same day we decided to roam around Mango Avenue and looked for something to eat.

We searched for a cheaper meal but pork as a viand.  Then we found Hungry Juan for a try.  It was our first time. So here are the snapshots.
