Summer Escapade at Ruvi Cave Resort

Last March 12, 2013 of Tuesday, I escaped from work and went to Ruvi Cave Resort to taste the first time of summer for 2013. Since my sister had her day off that day, my mom, and I decided to have a girl-bonding on the spot.

Since summer started, it's getting hotter and we really needed to take a break and cool down. It was our first time at Ruvi Cave Resort in Tungkop, Minglanilla. It is just a town apart from Naga. For our food, we just bought junk foods, 1.5 litre of soda, apples and Jollibee 39ers.

Literally Day Tour at Maribago Bluewater Resort

If you remember that I have won 2nd place in a blogging contest last year, one of the major prizes is a day tour at Bluewater Maribago.  I won a GC but it is only good for one person only. Hmmm... The GC was issued November 2011 and I got information that it will expire in six months.  Oh, I should consume within this May.

Strolling in Kota Beach and Budyong Beach Resort

Too much beach in the title eh? Hehe! Since Kota and Budyong are just physically next to each other so I'll just put them in one post.

When I was young, I've been to different beaches in Sta. Fe either resorts or just ordinary beaches.  Even though those beaches are just ordinary, they are totally amazing.  I have relatives in Sta. Fe and Madridejos but still I have to explore the island.  Looking for a place to stay? Click here.

My boyfriend and I had a stroll at the beach.  We had our swimming and taking snapshots.  I think I need a light box image viewer for this post since I'll be posting a lot of pictures here.  By the way, we passed Kota first, then took pictures at Budyong, had a swim and  transferred back to Kota.

With High School Pips In Tubod Flowing Water Resort

Last Sunday on July 4, 2010, we had an outing at Tubod Flowing Water Resort. It was supposed to be a reunion of my high school batch mates but only few attended. Some were so busy and some admitted that they really wanted to come to the event. Even though we were so few, I still enjoyed the outing because we had lots of foods that is why I was not worried that some didn't come. Hahaha! Lol

Self-timer moment.  It was the three of us: Maria Ana, Elaine and me arrived first at the resort.

Sceneries In Sta. Fe, Cebu

I am scrutinizing my drive D with pictures on it. While looking at the album Bantayan Island, I just missed summer days. Yesterday was the last season of summer. Today is June, it's school time but no, I am not studying. I am just going to stay at home doing my online job. I will give you a tour with my snapshots.

This is Sta. Fe Beach Club. You can see this when you are already near the port. With this clear water, it makes me jump off the ferry.

Baliad in Bantayan Island

Baliad is the local term for oyster. From Wikipedia, the word oyster is used as a common name for a number of distinct groups of bivalve molluscs which live in marine or brackish habitats. The valves are highly calcified.

From the beach, we passed by these people who greeted us that evening. There were busy cooking for their 'pulutan'. We wondered what it was and they introduced us this kind of food that is cooked through fire.

Baliad is nice to cook with fire than steaming or with boiled-water. It is better to make fire with withered coconut husks than using an ordinary firewood. It is easy to cook because it is easy to identify. If the meat will separate from the shell, it is already cooked.

My boyfriend was ready for the first bite of baliad.

This is baliad.

This is the closer look of Baliad. The juice and the meat are so sweet and we were so full.

How To Get To Bantayan Island?

This is how to get to Bantayan Island especially if you want to stay in Sugar Beach Resort. Here are the contact numbers if you want to have reservation: 09217755058 and 09305162366.

* If you are in Colon Street, take a ride on a jeepney to North Bus Terminal with a route number of 01K. If you are wealthy enough, a taxi can take you there.

* Upon arriving on the terminal, look for the bus that is going to Hagnaya. You can choose any of these buses, Auto Bus and Ceres Liner. The fare cost Php50.00 only. If you don't want to take a bus, a taxi or a van for hire can take you there but it is more expensive.

* Make sure you have all your foodies with you in case you are going to get hungry just for snacks. The land transportation takes 3 hours. Anyway, if you are a rice eater, the bus will have a stop-over either in Danao or Bogo.

* If you're in Bogo already, that means you are already near in Hagnaya. The ferry schedules are 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30 for the morning. In the afternoon, the last ferry boat is scheduled for 5:30. The fare cost Php140.00. The sea transportation takes 1 and 1/2 hour.

* Upon arriving in the island of Bantayan, drivers of multicab and pedicab will welcome you to bring you to your destined resort. A pedicab cost Php10.00 every person and a multicab is Php20.00.

* One thing, if you arrived in Hagnaya port beyond 5:30 pm, you can take the pump boat for Php300.00 to Php400.00.

♥ ♥ ♥Have a happy trip to Bantayan Island! ♥ ♥ ♥

College Reunion in Sugar Beach Resort

My classmates or schoolmates in college planned for a reunion. They are all graduates except me but we belong to the same batch during the first year. Well, you already knew the reason why I stopped if you have read some of my posts in the past.

I have relatives in Sta. Fe at Bantayan Island so I was interested to join the reunion because I never had the time to come back since my family has no budget to bring all of us for the Holy Week. I asked for my father if his older brother, who is my uncle, knew someone in Sugar Beach Resort so that we could have a discount. My uncle once lived at the back of the resort so I sent him an sms and asked him and the discount was granted.

We were consists of 16 people and we rented the duplex room worth Php1,800.00 good for 10 person (Php2,000 during peak season) and Php40.00 for additional person.

If you have your own tents, it is Php100.00 per day. By the way, the entrance fee is Php35.00.

I was here before in the resort together with my family and relatives. I just love the beach here because the sand is so wide and you will also going to love it. If you are planning to come here with your friends for an overnight, the budget would be Php1,500.00. The said amount is totally safe. From North Bus Terminal which is Php50.00 and the ferry is Php140.00, a total of Php 380.00 for back and forth.

Summer Getaway in Tubod Flowing Water Resort

My classmates during high school, who just graduated last March 26, 2010 in Cebu Institute of Technology, invited me for summer after-graduation party together with their other classmates at Tubod Flowing Water Resort in Tubod, Minglanilla, Cebu. This was also our time to be together since the day I quit studying at the same school and looked for a job. I am still 3rd year college level. That was also the time I gave them my very late Christmas gift because there were so busy with their thesis. Hahahaha!

We had a very good time at the resort. We never had the chance to use the big pool because the people are so few and it was Holy Week. The pool we used is the pool at the back. The water was so cool there.

The entrance fee for the adult is Php100.00, I think for the child is Php80.00. Enjoy summer! ^_^

Bantigue Cove Resort in Malapascua Island (3rd day)

Sorry for the late post about the Malapascua Island escapade for I was so busy the past few weeks. As promised, here is the third day in our vacation.

Welcome to Bantigue Cove Resort

In going to the resort, this is where we passed through. You can even take a swim here.

Bantigue Cove Resort is spectacular for diving and snorkeling. The resort is so private unlike any other resort in the island. It is very peaceful and honeymooners are welcome to this resort.

I took some beautiful scenery in the island. The resort is so amazing with its blue sky and sea, green earth and a very white and wide sand.

The huge stone behind me facing to the sea was carved as Bantigue Cove Resort.

Looks like a post card, right? I took this shot with my cousin as the model. I just love the wide blue sea and the sky, the wooden seat and the dead tree, is it really dead?

I hope I could get back to this resort when I am getting married. Hehehe!

I Fell Inlove with Kalanggaman Island (2nd day)

As promised, here is my second post about my Malapascua trip. My aunt promised us to have island hopping. We woke up early in the morning, it was 7am and we fixed ourselves for the tour. We have our tour guide who is a friend of my other aunt. I really didn't know where Kalanggaman Island is located. I just thought that it is just a nearby island with 30 minutes travel. On the boat, my butt really got ache for sitting 3 hours. I never thought that it is located in Palompon, Leyte. I was really bored on the boat and just fell asleep.

We arrived at the island almost noon. Our tour guide cooked the food for us and we had a very nice lunch on the boat. What's exciting when we arrived there is that we were the only people in the island and it feels like we owned it. Because it was noon, maybe the personnel of the island went back to the mainland to have their lunch so we never made our payment for our stay.

Getting ready the camera before arriving on the island.

Kalanggaman Island is a public and small island owned by Palompon, Leyte. I was amazed by the wide sand each side of the island.

This island is so virgin. This is totally paradise. I love the natural environment of the island.

Are these pineapples hanging on the tree? Could somebody tell me?

A proof that the government of Leyte preserved the island.

Nice view, isn't it?

Survivors?

I really enjoy snorkeling...

While snorkeling, I saw fishes, bangus or milk fish, in that shallow water where I was swimming. The boat men only caught the fishes on that shallow water and they were busy cooking tinowa or tinola for our lunch. The island is very abundant with fishes. It is truly beautiful.

It was my first time on that peaceful little island. It was very long trip from Malapascua Island. It is a non-commercialized island and not very famous unlike Boracay. I prefer Kalanggaman island to have its natural environment. I really appreciate its natural beauty and I fell in love with it. I wish I could go back there.

Update: 1/22/11

Good thing my aunt called this morning and I've got the chance to ask her about the cost of the boat trip.  It's Php2,000 back and forth.  Have a nice trip to Kalanggaman Island. ^_^

Cocobana Beach Resort in Malapascua Island

My aunt from Norway arrived two weeks ago and planned to have a vacation in Malapascua Island with my mother, my other aunts and my cousins. This is an EXPENSIVE TRIP BUT TOTALLY FREE. We arrived on February 28 at noon and left on March 2 also at noon. Good thing I filed for vacation leave ahead of time and really enjoyed the trip. So as not to miss my Facebook, my status was always updated through mobile web. We stayed at Cocobana Beach Resort.

On the first day, February 28, these were the things we've done: (Click the photos for larger views)

This is our photo taken in the boat

This is the Super-Deluxe-Aircon-Room with sea view. We occupied the two rooms below, five persons each room.

The "sariling-sikap" show

My mother and my aunt are watching Cartoon Network! Hahaha!

Good thing mama brought this chicken-macaroni salad. We never expected that we have our own refrigerator in our room.

Walking by the beach in the afternoon with my aunts

Sunset at Malapascua

This is the night life

The chocolate shake and the lamp. Would you believe that this chocolate shake worth Php130.00 or almost $3???

I told you a while ago that the trip was very expensive. Most of the tourists are foreigners and most of the resorts are just neighbors. The internet rental is worth Php150.00 or $3. Most resorts are owned by foreigners that's why most expenses are worth dollars. Because this is a three-day trip, please wait for my another post on the second day at Kalanggaman Island in Palompon, Leyte. I still have more photos about the trip. ^_^

I found these very romantic and we witnessed the sunrise together. A once in a lifetime experience but I am still hoping for more sunrise and sunset together.
