My Fruits of Labor 2010

Before the year 2010 ends, this is the summary of my fruits of labor through my online job.  Hehehe!

I am thankful that I receive these blessings unexpectedly or should I say the hard work? I also thanked the employers that I have who are giving me more bonuses every time I do a great job.

Have A Nice New Year for 2011!!! ^_______^ Cheers!

What is the most significant bloggable event that happened to you in 2010?

The year 2010 has been good to me. Actually I didn’t expect those blessings. It all started when I resigned from my previous job somewhere in IT Park and focused on my online job in Odesk. For me, this is the most significant event that happened to me in 2010 which is worth bloggable because I am earning more than working in a company (with a minimum wage salary).

I gave up my studies in Information Technology (I was already on my 3rd year sometime in 2008) because of financial problem. For how many months I was looking for an online job with the use of the internet but unfortunately I had not found it yet. Still I seek for an alternative job with some of these qualifications of at least second year college level and computer literate. I was hired as a cashier of a certain sport shop in SM City Cebu for three months (from November ‘08 to February ‘09). Thanks to my first working experience as a service crew in a certain fast food chain (studying while working).

By the end of February, I mourned because my grandmother, who had the same birth date as mine, died. After two to three weeks, I applied for a job in IT Park on May ’09 as data entry operator. After six months probation, I became a regular employee but I only lasted four months because I vomited during the unexpected last day of work on March ‘10. I went to the doctor for a check-up and she found out it was hyperacidity (which I have history). I need to resign to regain my health and weight.

I’ve been a member in Odesk since September ‘09 and it serves as a part-time job while working in IT Park. It was referred by a friend of mine who stayed in Manila for a while. When I decided to leave my job I realized I have to focus on my online job and tried my luck. I already have my part time jobs but still I looked for full time jobs to apply. I made sure that my profile or resume is impressive enough by prospective employers. I was thankful that I gained skills (from friends) and good feedback (from previous employers) until there was another employer who hired me which I didn’t apply for a job. He was impressed with my so-called “skills” and asked me join his team with good pay.

It was in June ’10 that I received my first payment from Odesk. I established saving my earnings and put it in the bank. Then I started buying things like my bike, my MSI netbook, my Samsung LCD TV, my Samsung DVD Home Cinema System, and my electric fan. I even put my other moneys on a time deposit account. Before I forget, I already settled for being an Associate Graduate in Information Technology last October ’10.

I don’t know if my entry sounds kick-ass to you but I think this could be an inspiration for some who loves to earn online either part time or full time. I am just a 22-year old lady who is learning from other people especially from bloggers (online/offline).

Thanks to Jehzeel Laurente for sponsoring the Christmas giveaway of Batang Yagit. ^__________^

I also thanked God for the blessings I received this year.  I am also praying for more blessings to come on year 2011. :D

Nintendo Wii Session With Friends

This is a very late post but I would like to share this to you.  It already happened during the birthday of our godson Tom.  Well, Tom was already sleeping while we were playing the gaming console.  That was the first time Glaiza and I played the Wii.  Walay Wii sa among bukid intawn (There's no Wii in our mountain so I was so ignorant how to play this).

Christmas Party Picnic

Last Sunday, December 19, 2010, my friends and I decided for a picnic of course, started by yours truly.  These are my friends from high school in Minglanilla National Science High School and college in Cebu Institute of Technology - University.  Actually, they are all engineers except me (just an associate graduate of Information Technology).  These girls are all so busy with their careers.  Since it is Christmas, this is the best time for us to reunite for a simple get-together.

My Asahi Electric Fan

In just same year, I have purchased an electric fan worth almost Php700.  I thought that was way cheap but I was wrong.  It even had six months warranty but after six months, my electric fan broke down.  My room is so hot without electric fan.  Same day with the Samsung Home Theater, I also bought an electric fan worth Php819.75 from Asahi.  It is the best deal ever because it has a service warranty of the motor for 5 years.  I admit I got penniless with the first electric fan I had.

My Samsung DVD Home Cinema System

I am so happy that I have bought the DVD Home Cinema System on December 14, 2010 for my Samsung LCD TV which I also bought last October.  The home theater is worth Php4,989.  SM Home Appliance is on sale until January 2011.

My Left Hand Injury

I got this unexpected accident last Sunday on December 12, 2010. How did this happened? I was going to reach the door knob to pull it when suddenly my brother opened the door harshly.  I was really hurt and I thought I could stand the pain but I was wrong.  I was going to type on my keyboard to continue my article writing but the pain got worse and I started to cry aloud.

MY CHRISTMAS WISH THIS YEAR: A NOKIA C7

A mail popped up to my inbox and it was from Nuffnang.  I hurriedly read it for I am excited for a new blogging contest.  Yes, I was right.  There is another blogging contest in town and they've been asking me what my Christmas wish is this year.  The prize will be a Nokia C7. Wow!

You're asking me if I want a Nokia C7 for Christmas. Yes, I want it.  No, it's just not a want but definitely a NEED.  I WANT a Nokia C7 because I really NEED it. Here are some of the reasons why I need it for Christmas and also for the coming years.

From Family Computer To PlayStation 2

During my childhood years, I remember I have played Mario Brothers on a family computer from Nintendo.  I used to play this at my cousins' because they have this.  After many years, I never have the chance to play it again.

The New Look Of Facebook Profile

upgraded Facebook profile

Just this afternoon, I found out some friends on Facebook that they have new profile.  I clicked it and got curious.  It's easy, just follow the steps and in seconds, you've got the new profile already.  Well, I just have to observe and how to use new stuffs. :)

What do you think about the new look? Share your comments about it.

My Facebook Status

THANKS to all my HATERS, I'm having MORE BLESSINGS. ^_^ Thank you Lord ha? pan de sal lang naman ang hiningi ko sa iyo; hamburger binigay n'yo, may fries pa. :D
I posted this Facebook status for I am so grateful what is happening to me.  I am contented for what I am doing right now.  We can't deny that there are some people are really jealous about you or me.  Yes, I am always experiencing this.  As they say, jealousy is really hard to deal with.

Actually, I really cry when someone's going to pull me down but after that, I try to rise and say, "no one can beat me."  My self-confidence and guts are just really strong.  I am a person who tells someone direct to the point and some may even find it really annoying

All I know is I never hurt or stepped anyone. Who am I anyway? I am just a nobody.  I just want to be fair and balance and most of all, I am not hypocrite.  You may find me liberating sometimes and it's nice to be like one.

Haters are really part of our lives and no one can change it.  Even though I am not that religious and I seldom go to church, I always ask God for guidance on everything I do.  My haters are my obstacles in life but in the end blessings are keep on showering me.  It's a challenge and all I have to do is to accept and face it.  Thanks God!

Thanks to My Amnesia Girl, I am using one of your lines. ;)

P.S. I am sleepy and dizzy zzzzzzzzzz...

Change Your Profile Picture To A Cartoon On Facebook

Starting today, I am Sailormoon

Repost from Facebook friends:

Change your facebook profile picture to a cartoon from your childhood and invite your friends to do the same. Until Monday (6 December 2010), there should be no human faces on facebook, but a stash of unexpurgated childhood memories. This is for eliminating violence against children. Let's promote Republic Act 7610 otherwise known as the Law Against Child Abuse.

My Attempt On Wearing Eye Mascara

It's December 1 and this is my first post for the month.  I just want to apologize again for not updating my blog for November because I am so busy with my job.  I just have the opportunity to wake up early today at four in the morning so here I am now, blogging.   I can already feel Christmas but still decorations in our house are not yet up.

Ok, I just want to share my make-up progression.  Last November, I forgot what date, I purchased a water-resistant eye mascara for myself from Avon and it's worth PhP179.00.  The color is brown.

My Thoughts For Today

Seems I wasn't keep on updating of my blog.  Again and again I am so busy with my online job and sad to say I keep on missing some of my jobs.  I've been doing something that was not really worth while and because of that, my time got wasted.  Anyway, I just dropped here on my blog just to say hi?

I have lots of pictures to post but I don't have the time of luxury to post it right now.  I am making weird things on my face.  Remember my post about make-up?  You know that I am not really good about this but I guess I am making improvement.  Well, better check out on my next post.

Last November 23, 2010, my boyfriend and I went to SM City Cebu for a date.  Of course, we watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  It was our first time to be on their IMAX Theatre.  On my next post...

Well, that it's for today.  I just say what's on my mind right now... write and post.  Have a great weekend and I'll be back with my online job.

Hey, hey, hey! Heypi Birthday!

I am celebrating my birthday today with my family and boyfriend.  I am not telling you about my age :) just guess it hehehe! I am just thankful to God above that I've been receiving blessings from him.  I've got a good pay job through online and this is where I got my fundings on buying my city bikeMSI netbook during my boyfriend's birthday, Samsung lcd tv, and many more.  My birthday celebration is just so simple.  By the way, it is also my grandmother's birthday named Lola Enciang who is now in heaven already.  Happy Birthday Lola!

My boyfriend's gift for me is a Mango Nestle Ice Cream which is my favorite flavor of all ice cream because my ripe mango is my favorite fruit.  Actually my boyfriend is my only visitor! Hahaha! I've apologized to my employers for not being online for two days because I've been busy preparing for my birthday and thankful that they understood.

Milk, Grapes and Fruit Salad

This afternoon, I went to Minglanilla to withdraw my salary from my online job.  After that I went to La Nueva Supermarket for a mini grocery.  Am I health conscious? I don't think so.  I just love to buy what I like.  I just feel like to eat fruits and drink milk.

My Samsung LCD TV

Before meeting my friends during the Cabalen food trip last October 30, 2010, I hurriedly went to SM Home Appliance Northwing to check out the LCD tv.  That was the time I asked for the prices for the brands of Sony, Samsung, and LG.

Eat All You Can At Cabalen

Yesterday, my friends in high school invited me for an "eat-all-you-can" party in SM City Cebu.  It's very rare for us to see each other.  Other friends are so busy with their work too.  It was just the four of us: Cherrie Mae, Elaine, and Maria Ana.

We went to Cabalen worth Php298.00 per head.  Actually it's very expensive.  We chose the venue because it was convenient for us especially on going back home.

My First Ebay Transaction

Yesterday, I received $60.00 on my Pay Pal which is a payment from my employer.  Just so you know, I am working at home with my online job.  I looked for something which is below $10.00 to give it a try.  I've been looking for gadgets but they are too expensive.  I decided to go on fashion items.  Actually the other night, I bid for a skirt but I lost.  The bidder won it for $7.00, I bid for $6.50.

Eating By Chopsticks

This is a very late post sometime in August but I just want to tell you that at last, I know how to eat Chinese foods using chopsticks.  I was with Jacqui and Arcel in Ayala Center Cebu for the Eigasai 2010 - Japanese Film Festival.  This is the first time I learned to eat using chopsticks.  The second experience was when I was with my boyfriend.

We were really hungry.  The two decided for an Asian feeling of eating and that was using chopsticks.  I was thrilled with the idea because I was really longing to experience it.

I hope everything's well for the next days.

My Art Blog

I have a new blog and I am just starting with it.  It is an Art Blog and the title of the blog is The Left Handed Artist.  This is my third blog on Blogger.

The Left Handed Artist is all about my collections of my own artworks that I've made when I was younger way back in high school or college.  It would be sketching, painting and arts and crafts.  I also want to pursue photography which is Point and Shoot Photography.  I want to integrate my posts in Simple Yet Rock and The Left Handed Artist.

I haven't design the banner yet because I am so busy with my online job.  I hope time comes that I could have the luxury of designing the banner.

Anyway, you are free to contribute your artworks on The Left Handed Artist blog.  Please feel free to drop me a message.

How To Change The Language Settings From Filipino To English in Google Chrome

Last Saturday, I downloaded Google Chrome to be my official browser on my net book. After it was installed I realized that the official language used in my Google Chrome is in Tagalog or the official language of the Philippines, Filipino. It doesn't mean that I don't love my own language but honestly, it was kind of annoying when the Tagalog words were popping up on my screen. Tagalog is not my first language for I speak Cebuano and it's rare for me to speak the official language.

Thankful With My Pedal Exerciser

Last March 26, 2010, Adam and I went to SM City Cebu. I am so thankful for I have purchased a pedal exerciser. For how many weeks, I've been suffering the aching of my legs for I am always facing on the computer which is more than 8 hours a day. I don't even have time to go for an exercise and I feel my legs especially the right one is numbing.

My pedal exerciser
While working I can do my exercise.  Once I let myself having fun pedaling.  Even though I have my own bike, I can't find my luxury to roam around the town.  It really helped me to ease the pain.

I bought this pedal exerciser worth Php650.00 and I've got this for Php585.00 for I have a discount.

Unexpected Trip To Dumanjug

This is a very, very late post that happened on  March 29, 2010. The reason I post it right now because I was afraid to post this by the time I was not officially resigned from my previous job although here is the reason why I quit my job.  Here is also the post last March 27 which is related to what happened on this post entitled Vomited After Work. Why this trip is unexpected? Just continue reading this post and you will know.
When I saw this view, I hurriedly took this picture.

Google Adwords Free Advertising Voucher before September 30, 2010

This afternoon, my sister woke me up for I have received a letter from Google. I wonder what it was because it says on the envelope "Hurry! Open before September 30, 2010."

I opened and read the letter and I got free advertising voucher from Google. They invited me to be one of their advertisers worth Php1,500.00.

What Can I Say?

Yesterday, I did some groceries in Minglanilla, Cebu at La Nueva after I deposit my money from the earnings I have with my online job. I made sure to remain a personal money worth Php500.00 in case I need something to buy. I went to the grocery and bought foods and some other personal and for cleaning stuffs. After that I went to the cashier and was shocked that I would pay Php475.00. I never thought that those stuffs put in just one bag is worth almost Php500.00. I never have time taking photo shots with my grocery. This month of September is really picture less.

The dollar versus peso rate, I was really worried that from Php45.00 it slowly dropped to 44, then 43 and now 42. What will happen next week? Would it be 40 or 39? I really ranted through Facebook about the dropping of the dollar versus peso but the prices in the markets and fare are still high. One example was my small grocery bag worth Php500.00. Php500.00 is already a big money but I never thought that I could buy something that has less quantities that I imagined.

They say it is a sign of progress for our country. Of course, I am hoping for it but I am just worried about my Php500.00 that I can only buy few quantities for a certain product. How I wish that the fare will go back from Php7.00 to Php5.00.

One Year Anniversary Of Simple Yet Rock And Odesk Member

I should have celebrate today but I didn't make it. Or guess I celebrated it facing my computer and worked. Bad thing is that I had a disrupted internet connection so I am not done with other projects. I finished the full-time job first before doing the next projects. What time is it now? It's quarter to nine in the evening. I should have done all the projects by now but I failed. You see, I even hard time continuing this blog post for today because of my failure internet connection. I should enjoy a massage by now but I guess mom's not done yet with her massage. I am having a headache right now. I know this post is very lame but I just want to post something for the anniversary of my blog and being part of Odesk.

I have three other projects that need to be done and it should be done in one hour, two hours and five hours. So it makes another 8 hours. I wonder if I should sleep early and wake up early or I need to wake up in the middle of the night. Tomorrow afternoon I have a date of course with my boyfriend. I miss going to malls just eating different kinds of food, ice cream, playing games and other things that I seldom to do.

Yeah! I better get a massage so that I could sleep, wake up early and do the last eight hours of job for the week. I guess tomorrow would be the post anniversary. :)

I Want To Have A Vacation Or Just One Day Trip

Since I focused on my online job, I never had the time to enjoy even just a one day trip during my day off. The coolest place would be going to the malls probably SM City Cebu where I could watch the latest movie, going to Cyberzone to check out the laptops or net books for the price, eating to different restaurants and going to the World of Fun to play games.

I am also thinking of going to other places within Cebu. I just want to unwind. Swimming on pools or beaches would be great but I am undecided. Or I want to be adventurous, I am thinking of nature tripping or hiking. How about going to Bohol? I still wonder how much could I spend for the trip.

Changing My Body Clock

This morning, I decided to wake up early at six. I took a bath and ate just one pan de sal. What kind of breakfast was that? Actually I have no appetite to eat my breakfast very early. The reason I wake up early is because I want to change my body clock. I have a full time and part time job online so as long as possible I have to meet the contracted hours in a week. It would be a waste if I won't work and complete the time.

This day is such a good start but I have to go out because I never have any day-off during weekends. I just made the first project for six hours. Of course, by tomorrow, I'll be working more than eight hours.

Have a nice day ahead!

I Got An Assistant

I was so happy that someone responded with my announcement on Facebook. It was my classmate during high school. I just don't want to be detailed about her. I was relieved when she sent the articles that I needed. My working heavy baggage became lighter. But next week, I need to change my body clock in order to meet the full time job. I need extra hours to work on my part-time jobs. It is not really easy to be a writer because I am easily lost for words. I think my September posts are picture less. T_T

I Need Writer Assistant

Once again I am really, really, really busy.  I have lots of article writing jobs that need to be done.  My jobs are all ongoing and I am afraid that I cannot do all of these.  I even have link building jobs.  My writing works are not that difficult and the topics are all general.  I hope I could find someone who can send me articles that I need.  Yeah, I really posted some status on my Facebook that I really need an assistant.

K-kinda Busy

I am so busy with my freelance job nowadays.  I never had the time to post for the month.  September is the start of the BER months.  Christmas songs are on the radios.  Everyone is starting for the countdown but honestly I can't feel the Christmas season yet unless my birthday is done for the year.  Ha ha ha ha! I'm not gonna tell you when's my birthday.

I have lots of things to post but time won't let me freely do it.  I have images that I would like you to see.  But for now, I just escaped for a while from my job because it's a Sunday.  I have 2 projects that need to be done.  I am doing article writing jobs.  I was not born to be a writer because I am not really that poetic.  I really don't know why I landed on this kind of work.

Even though I would really like to post a scheduled post seems impossible.  My brain is not really fast to work on a lot of things.  In a day I just want to focus only one activity to keep my brain simple as it is (*sigh*).  Anyway, I have to take my lunch and have a good time with Lady Gaga on her K-kinda busy video: Telephone.

Pagbabago

I created this blog as a hobby. I just want to post my personal interests in here. I am not a good writer and never been in school publications before but I just want to express how I feel and my points of view in life. As long as possible, I want to have correct grammar on my writings.

The paragraph above was taken on my About page.

When I started this blog, I had a very simple header or banner. It was just scenery I took in Santander and just put the title Simple Yet Rock with a lame font. My blog was not really artistic. It was just plain words with my ramblings (no pictures yet). I also do blog-hopping to check out on other sites how they beautify it especially on their header.

Snack Date at Flame It! Burgers and Sausages

As promised with my previous post with our 3rd year anniversary celebration, here is our experience at Flame It! This Quick Serve Restaurant (QSR) can only be found in Cebu with branches in Escario, Mandaue, Ayala Cebu and SM City Cebu.

Adam treated me to this extra-ordinary burgers. Honestly, I never took my lunch at home so I was really hungry then before I arrived at SM. We waited for 15-20 minutes after ordering the meal. My stomach was really in pain. But we still had the guts to take pictures inside the premises.

Our Post Anniversary Celebration

On August 8, 2010, Adam and I went to SM City Cebu for our post anniversary celebration. We had a great day just eating, singing in karaoke, taking pictures and love, love love. These were the things we've done.

The extra-ordinary burger that I've ever eaten.  I'll be posting about our experience on Flame It!

My Adobe Illustrator Tutorial

This is my Adobe Illustrator tutorial with the project Halloween Pumpkin. I know it's August but it's not yet Halloween.  I am just a newbie in Illustrator even though I am already into Adobe Photoshop.  Honestly, this is my first time to use the Pen Tool.  I know it's already in Photoshop but I never used it because I didn't even know how.  I use it through editing photos and creating banners or logos.

Make up Galore

I have a confession, I really didn't like cosmetics and I am really a late bloomer in wearing make-up and I was afraid putting it on my face. I remember the time when I was working part-time in a fast food chain (I was 18 then) and the manager really wanted me to wear make-up. I even hated lipstick but I have no choice but to put something on my lips.

Puto Malagkit & Mangga For Breakfast

Puto and Mangga for breakfast, sometime in May

Good Morning? What's for breakfast?

Isn't this mouth-watering? I miss having this breakfast in the morning and I miss the mango season. I remember sometime in February to May that everyday we have mangga (mangoes) for our breakfast, lunch and dinner. I love it when paired with puto malagkit. Puto malagkit (sticky rice) is a native delicacy in the Philippines.

What's your favorite combo breakfast?

Four Months Of Being A Tambay

Classmates, friends, relatives and acquaintances asked me, "Asa ka nag work karon?" (Where are you working right now?)

I always answer, "Tambay ra intawn ko sa balay." (I am just staying at home.)

If you hear the word Tambay, people's impression of me is that I have no work. I am already 21 years old and a 3rd year college level only. All my batch mates in college already graduated and now all of them are professionals. What a shame to myself that at this age, I have not looking for work or no work as of the moment?

By the time of my previous job for almost a year on a BPO company, I have this part-time job at home which is using your computer and the internet. My earning is not really big but at least I have an extra-income.

With College And High School Friends

Sorry for not updating my blog last week because I was so busy. Friends invited me for an "ukay-ukay" where you can shop for secondhand goods such as clothings, shoes and bags for a very cheap price. Still I haven't washed the clothes yet but I hope I could wear it for the next rampa with Arcel and Jacqui.

Meet Vanilla, My New Pet

He is a little kitten named Vanilla. I brought him at home yesterday from my boyfriend's house. My sister wanted a white cat and that's why I told my boyfriend if I could get the white kitten if he could walk already.

My boyfriend put the kitten on a box with holes in it to let it breathe. He gave me tips on how to take care the cat. He told me that if I give the kitten some food, I should spit saliva on it so that it will know that I am it's master. When I opened the box, I feel so pity for it and I looked for food let it eat. I really spit on the food. After the Vanilla ate his food, he really looked for me and starting to climb on my lap to sleep.

Vanilla is so cute

What's With The Wavy Hair?

What's with the wavy hair?
Yesterday, I went to Joecel Studio for a graduation pictorial. I am not really used of wearing make-up and honestly I don't like my picture when I saw it. I am just weird, I guess so. I've got almost into tears when they put eye liner and mascara. Also, I am not used of smiling showing my teeth even though the dentist already told me I have good set of teeth and zero cavity. Hahaha!

I really forgot how to have a good smile showing your teeth. We've already heard it before that some photographer would quote: "SAY CHEESE!" but I never said it. When I smiled for the pictorial, it feels like it was fake. As what I've said before, I really don't know how to smile showing your teeth.

After the pictorial, thank goodness I brought wet tissues to wipe my make-up but the mascara and eye liner, I just left it to stay so that my face would not be a mess. Oh yeah, my hair it was wavy. I didn't know how to carry it but I felt so liberated with the hair. I went to Metro Gaisano for a little shopping and suddenly I had the feeling to buy for a mini-skirt. Yeah I saw a white mini-skirt but it's worth Php500.00, oh come on it's too expensive.

With High School Pips In Tubod Flowing Water Resort

Last Sunday on July 4, 2010, we had an outing at Tubod Flowing Water Resort. It was supposed to be a reunion of my high school batch mates but only few attended. Some were so busy and some admitted that they really wanted to come to the event. Even though we were so few, I still enjoyed the outing because we had lots of foods that is why I was not worried that some didn't come. Hahaha! Lol

Self-timer moment.  It was the three of us: Maria Ana, Elaine and me arrived first at the resort.

Macro Shots On Flowers

I did this last month by the time I lost my internet connection. I was so bored and I've got nothing to do at home so I grab my Olympus fe-26 camera, went outside and set my camera to macro settings. There are lots of things to do some experiments on my camera but my double A battery is not rechargeable so it would be a waste if I use the camera often. If I could buy rechargeable batteries, then I can proceed to Panorama shots.

But anyway, here are my shots and I am not a pro. Can you please help me identify with some these plants or flowers? Hehehe!
